WELFARE
Helicopters have operating today to drop off essential supplies!
They've delivered over 30 food packs containing food, water, pet food and hygiene products as well as jerry cans of fuel to isolated households.
There are a large number of people in challenging situations. If you need assistance, send us a message with your phone number and our welfare team can give you a call. If you don't have accommodation and can't stay with friends - then please let us know
The Motueka Recreation Centre, 40 Old Wharf Road is open tomorrow from 10am-3pm.
Agencies on-site include MSD, IAG Insurance, MPI, Nelson Bays Primary Health, Te Piki Oranga, Tasman Pasifika Community Trust, IRD and the Salvation Army.
WATER
The Dovedale Water Treatment Plant remains non-operational. Residents are strongly urged to conserve water.
Drinking water tankers available tomorrow (Wednesday 16 July). Please bring your own clean containers:
- Motueka Recreation Centre (30 Old Wharf Rd): 10am–4pm
- Dovedale Hall: 10am–4pm
- Upper Moutere Village Service Station (1390 Moutere Highway): 2–4pm
Tanker availability is limited and prioritised by need.
Boil water notices remain in place for:
- Dovedale (permanent)
- Redwoods (permanent)
- 88 Valley (permanent)
- Tapawera (temporary)
ROADING
There are currently 41 road closures.
State Highway 6 – Rocks Road remains closed to all traffic between Bisley Ave and Richardson St due to a slip. This closure is expected to remain in place until further notice.
SH60 across Tākaka hill remains open, but there are still slips and the road is one-way with stop, go signals – please only travel over the hill for essential travel and please be aware of crews and ongoing work.
Access to Mārahau is open for residents and emergency vehicles only.

POWER
Around 10 households are without power.
Many outages involve serious damage to the network and access roads, making repairs difficult and delays likely. Network Tasman will provide updates as crews continue to make progress.

HARBOURMASTER
A massive amount of work has been completed by the harbourmaster over the past two weeks, especially before Friday’s storm event. A lot of debris has been cleared from the harbour – including 250 apple bins and 50 orchard nets!
